My rapidly shrinking attention span (which perhaps has something to do with aging) makes me a devoted reader of short stories, and novels often require more of me than my mind can lately muster.

Preview of the Southern Voices Series

Soon, as a supplement to the other reviews and comments already appearing regularly on this site, I will be featuring the Southern Voices series, an assortment of reviews and essays as responses to works by Southern authors: Flannery O’Connor (a writer who I see as the most significant among all Southern authors), Eudora Welty, Walker Percy, William Faulkner, Alice Walker, Tennessee Williams, Katherine Anne Porter, Carson McCullers, Robert Penn Warren, and Cormac McCarthy are among the canonical giants that will be included, but many others (some widely known and some unfairly neglected) will also be featured in regular postings.
